Is Tiger Shroff going to play the lead in Bhaichung Bhutia's biopic?
Tiger Shroff's latest movie Student of the Year 2 failed to impress the audience, however there is big news for all Tiger Shroff fans. Bollywood has shown an inclination towards coming up with biopics of some of the great personalities in India, especially sports players. While on one hand, Ranveer Singh is gearing up to play the role of Kapil Dev in '83- the retelling of the 1983 World Cup', Parineeti Chopr ahas been finalized to play the role of Saina Nehwal in her biopic. Now, is the time for Tiger Shroff to play the lead role in Bhaichung Bhutia's biopic.
According to the sources, "Tiger has been approached for a biopic, which might also be his first. It's on the life of Indian footballer Bhaichung Bhutia. Anand Kumar, the director of Zila Ghaziabad, is putting the project together. They have offered the film to Tiger. It now needs to be seen if Tiger will be keen on taking this project up."
"Tiger is a fantastic footballer himself. In fact, if he wasn't an actor, he would have taken to a career in the sport. So when Anand was looking at a popular face for the biopic, Tiger was his first and only choice. Tiger has liked the script but now, it's up to the dates and the schedules. The modalities need to be discussed before proceeding further," adds the source. Tiger Shroff has a deep-rooted interest in football and other sports. Thus, approaching him for the role has been a wise choice.
The source also says, "The film will also trace how Bhaichung struggled to fulfill his dreams, his highs and lows, and personal life as well. Nobody knows what went behind his supremely successful career and that's what the makers are planning to tap into."
Biopics in Bollywood have always shown an immense success. Mary Kom, MS DHoni: The Untold Story, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag have been huge hits. We are expecting the same from the biopic of Bhiachung Bhutia. It will definitely highlight some of the lesser-known facts and life incidents of the renowned footballer.
