The decision of Prasoon Joshi replacing Pahlaj Nihalani as the chief of Central Board of Film Certification was welcomed by many prominent faces of the film industry. But, one thing that is still not clear is that the reason behind his sacking from the prestigious position? Well, according to latest reports, it was producer Ekta Kapoor. This is known to all that the former CBFC chief created trouble for Ekta’s Lipstick Under My Burkha and made sure that the film doesn’t get released. But, after a long fight, Lipstick Under My Burkha not only got released but also received positive response from the audiences.
If reports are to be believed, Ekta expressed her displeasure over the film to the new I&B Minister Smriti Irani with whom she shared good equation. So, the two powerful ladies could be the reason behind the sacking of Nihalani.
Previously, it was speculated that Nihalani and other CBFC members misbehaved with the director and producer of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, who filed the case against him.
