Irrfan Khan quits Hindi Medium 2, director Saket Chowdhary follows suit
Irrfan Khan was loved by the audience for his role in Saket Chowdhary directorial Hindi Medium that released in 2017. The actor was awarded with Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Male) category. It was reported that Irrfan Khan might return to silver screen with Hindi Medium 2. However, recent reports suggest that this might not happen soon. Though Khan has returned from the US after receiving treatment for cancer, his health is not up to the mark. He is recovering, though slow. Citing this, Irrfan Khan has no plans returning to Bollywood anytime soon.
A friend of the actor told Bollywood Hungama, “Irrfan is recuperating slowly. He won’t be returning to acting for a while now. The process of healing is slow and exhausting. Even after full recovery he won’t be allowed to get back to work for at least a year. So there is no question of doing Hindi Medium 2 or any other film in the immediate future.”
On the other hand, director Saket Chowdhary has also walked away from the project saying that he has already told his story and he has nothing more to say. This leaves producer Dinesh Vijan with a hit project in his hand without the director and the lead actor who took the film to that height.
