New Delhi: The entire B-town was taken a back lately after Indra Kumar’s ‘Great Grand Masti’ was leaked online.
It was the second movie after Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Udta Punjab’ became the target of piracy.
This came as a huge shock for the makers of ‘Great Grand Masti’ and they were forced to advance the release of the movie.
‘Great Grand Masti’ which was supposed to release on July 22, will now be hitting the theatres on July 15.
This advance release of the ‘Great Grand Masti’ has also taken a toll on Irrfan Khan’s ‘Madaari’.
The Irrfan Khan starrer has once again been postponed at the behest of the makers of ‘Great Grand Masti’.
They requested Vashu Bhagnani, the distributor of "Madaari", to push back the film's release.
This is the second time that the movie's release date has been altered. Earlier, “Madaari” was to release alongside megastar Amitabh Bachchan's “TE3N” on June 10 and then it was pushed to July 15.
But Bhagnani doesn't mind.
"The industry is one big family and we all operate for and with each other. 'Madaari' will now hit theatres on July 22, while 'Great Grand Masti' will come on July 15," Bhagnani said in a statement.
“Madaari”, which explores a father-son relationship, is directed by Nishikant Kamat. It also features Jimmy Sheirgill in a pivotal role.
"Great Grand Masti" director Indra Kumar said Bhagnani's gesture is heartening.
"We're touched by Vashuji's gesture of moving his film ahead by a week on our request. The industry continues to stand thick as one body owing to such veteran producers," said Kumar, whose adult comedy film stars Ritesh Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani and Urvashi Rautela.
