Imtiaz Ali, Ekta Kapoor’s Laila Majnu teaser attached to Veere Di Wedding, check out first look
Bollywood filmmaker Ekta Kapoor has joined hands with the ace filmmaker Imtiaz Ali to recreate the magic of Laila Majnu on silverscreen. The teaser of the film, which is also attached to Veere Di Wedding, is out now. Balaji Motion Pictures shared Laila Majnu teaser on social media, "‘Pyaar mein pagal...’ We often wonder what it is to become crazy in love. Laila Majnu is exactly that. A new take on the legendary love story by #ImtiazAli and film written and directed by #SajidAli, here’s presenting the #LailaMajnuTeaser Releasing on 24th August 2018", the caption read.
The film which will be directed by Sajid Ali surely looks like exciting and intriguing all the way.

Laila Majnu is said to be a modern day re-telling of the classic love story of Laila-Majnu. While Imtiaz has written the film’s story, Ekta is producing it. He also mentioned its release date. Sharing the first look, Imtiaz wrote on Instagram, “Why do some stories live forever? Laila Majnu Teaser out tomorrow... releases 24th August 2018.”
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh also shared Laila Majnu first look and wrote, “#LailaMajnu teaser attached to #VeereDiWedding and will also be launched online tomorrow [1 June 2018] ... A modern day re-telling of the classic love story of Laila – Majnu... Directed by Sajid Ali... Presented by Imtiaz Ali and produced by Ekta Kapoor... 24 Aug 2018 release.”
On the occasion of Valentine's Day, Ekta took to Twitter to share a photograph of herself along with Ali.
"Excited to recreate the epic love story, 'Laila Majnu' with master storyteller Imtiaz Ali. Balaji Motion Picture, Imtiaz Ali's 'Laila Majnu', she tweeted.
The film is presented by Imtiaz Ali and produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures and PI Films. The cast of the film is yet to be unveiled.
Imtiaz Ali last helmed Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma-starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal which released to tepid response in August last year.
