The thriller-drama released worldwide in April last year amidst a lot of expectations as Shah Rukh Khan was seen in a completely different avatar. The superstar played the star and the ‘fan’ himself as well. No matter what the critical verdict of the movie was, SRK fans loved his acting in the flick. Today, another feather has been added to the movie’s cap. It bagged the prestigious IIFA Award under Best Visual Effects category.
Today is the day 2 of International Indian Film Academy Awards’ 18th edition in New York. The ceremony is being held at the place’s Metlife stadium which is studded by most of the A-listed stars of film industry. On Saturday, Red Chillies Entertainment Vfx’s official Twitter handle revealed the news that Maneesh Sharma’s Fan won the Best Visual Effects Award at IIFA. Delighted Shah Rukh Khan retweeted the great news on his twitter with a caption: Awesum. More than recognition it’s heartening to know that ppl recognise what v fx are. V will make in India & rule.
Fan is a Shah Rukh Khan-starrer film which features the actor in double role. The story revolves around a superstar Aryan Khanna and his die-hard fan Gaurav Channa who decides to ruin his life. It released worlwide in April last year.
