New Delhi: Actress Huma Qureshi has broken her silence on her rumoured affair with actor-producer Sohail Khan. News of Huma being the reason of misunderstandings between Sohail and his wife Seema Ssachdeva has been doing rounds of media for some months now.
Huma, who isn’t known to mince her words, said that it was sad that people spread such rumours.
“What really hurts is that without knowing the truth about my life, they (media) go ahead and put these stories. And I’ll tell you why they do it; they do it because they want to take away all the attention from my hard work. They want to show that whatever I have achieved in my life is because of my closeness to a particular man, who may be coming from an influential family or is influential himself. That is disrespectful,”
Huma told a leading daily.
Reports in media claimed that Sohail pampered Huma with expensive gifts. Sohail’s elder brother Arbaaz Khan is currently on a break with his wife Malaika Arora Khan. It was being said that Sohail’s marriage too hit a rocky patch and Huma was cited as a major reason.

But, with her current statement, she has cleared the air on the matter.
She also went on to say that it is far from a diplomatic statement. Huma said,
“I’ve become far more diplomatic. I was quite moofat (outspoken) when I first made an appearance in the industry. Over the years, I have learnt that as a Bollywood actor, you can’t be like that.”
Huma went on,
“It’s easy for people to say that she is doing well because she is close to someone. That is demeaning. I don’t see that happening to any of the industry kids, to be very honest.”
