In what may have been actor Hrithik Roshan’s comeback hit after two years did not yield the expected results. Announced, promoted and released with a  lot of pomp and show, ‘Mohenjo Daro’ did not fare well at the box office.

It hit theatres last Friday and has minted Rs 51. 18 crore till yet. These disappointing numbers point out that the period drama is a flop. It was made on a budget of Rs 100 crore reportedly with around Rs 15 crore being spent on promotions and it doesn’t seem that the numbers will increase much over the coming days.

‘Mohenjo Daro’ has become Hrithik’s first flop since 2010 release ‘Guzaarish’.

Despite these unfavourable numbers, it seems Hrithik is not ready to compromise on his remuneration.

Reports have it that Hrithik walked out of YRF’s ‘Thug’ because the production house was not giving him the amount he asked for. Reportedly, Hrithik asked for a whopping amount of Rs 60 cr to be a part of the movie.

Unlike other actors of this time, Hrithik did not ask for profit sharing. A source close to the development told a leading daily,

“Profit sharing also means that the actor might not make major moolah if his film fails to work at the BO. So it's risky, which is why Hrithik perhaps wanted a flat fee, which is safe.”

Looks like Hrithik knows that his star power cannot take his movies to success and hence settled for an amount.

Since Hrithik backed out, the movie reportedly now has Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles.
