Shah Rukh Khan became a household name after his portrayal of antagonist in Darr. However, he was hailed as the King of Romance after Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. The film not only went on to become a blockbuster, but also continued to play in a theatre for over two decades. While talking to news agency ANI, Shah Rukh Khan told what his close friend Salman Khan told him after watching the film for the first time.
“The first person outside the production who saw the film and said 'it's a great one' was my friend Salman Khan,” Shah Rukh Khan told ANI.
“Even today it’s strange that everyone calls me a romantic hero because I’m really awkward doing it. I would like to thank all the heroines in this country who’ve done films with me because they made me really comfortable,” he added.
