Here's what Rohit Shetty has to say about Simmba Vs Shah Rukh Khan's Zero box-office clash

For all the action-film lovers, Simmba is going to be that one Rohit Shetty film that fans eagerly await all the years to watch on the 70mm screen. Besides all the action and drama, another thing that has added to the buzz is the unique pairing of Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan. Amid the buzz, several reports have come up about Simmba clashing with Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif film Zero at the box-office. While the two films will release a week apart, yet industry experts have touted that the two movies will eat into each other’s business.

However, that is not how Rohit Shetty feels. The director, who’s last film (Golmaal Again) made over Rs 250 crore at the box-office, spoke to Mumbai Mirror about the upcoming box-office clash. “People are terming this as a clash to spice up the scenario. There is a gap of one week between the two films, and seven days are enough to do great, more so because team Zero has the Christmas holiday to cash in on. There is no issue with the screen distribution, plans are already in place,” the Simma director said.

According to reports, Shah Rukh, along with his Zero co-stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, will be seen promoting the romantic drama on comedian Kapil Sharma’s comeback show, The Kapil Sharma Show. The show will reportedly go on air on December 23. Considering how Kapil’s return to the TV screen is eagerly awaited and how his camaraderie with SRK is a hit among the audiences, the episode will turn out to be a great marketing tool for Zero.

A remake of Jr NTR-starrer Temper, Simmba has Ranveer Singh in his element as he returns as a no-nonsense cop, Sangram Bhalerao. An out and out Rohit Shetty entertainer, the film also stars Sara Ali Khan, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana and ‘Singham’ Ajay Devgn in a cameo. This will be Sara’s second release in the same month after she debuts with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath.
