Actor Akshay Kumar, who will soon start the shooting of ‘Gold’ in which he will reportedly play the role of Indian hockey player Balbir Singh, has made the player’s daughter unhappy. Balbir’s daughter Sushbir Kaur has said that the makers of the film have not approached her for it.

Sushbir revealed to a leading daily that she came to know by media that ‘Gold’ is based on her father’s struggle. She further added that her father played an important role in India’s win in Olympics in 1948. Thus, the makers should have consulted the family.

She said, “He was instrumental in getting the gold and we are his immediate family. Ideally, we should be consulted on this.”

The lady further stated that the Olympic had many key players and currently the film has no clarity. She added that her family would be pleased to help the makers of the film adding that Akshay is fantastic and fit to play the role.

‘Gold’ is based on the story of first Olympic medal won by India as a free nation in 1948. Latest reports suggested that Akshay will essay the role of Balbir who scored the first goal and played an important role in India’s win. However, more information about Akshay’s role is kept under folds.

The movie will be directed Reema Kagti, whose reaction on the same is still awaited.
