Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi Box Office Collection Day 2: Sonakshi Sinha-starrer shows upward trend, mints Rs 4.03 crore

Sonakshi Sinha’s Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, which is a sequel to 2016 film Happy Bhag Jayegi opened to lukewarm response from both critics and audience this Friday. Unlike the last part, this film stars Jassie Gill and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. It also stars Diana Penty, Ali Fazal and Jimmy Sheirgill in important roles. On day 1, the film performed average, earning Rs 2.70 crore at the box office. The Mudassar Aziz film showed an upward trend owing to the weekend, on Saturday.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office collection of Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi for day 2. He wrote, “#HappyPhirrBhagJayegi shows HEALTHY GROWTH on Sat... Sun is expected to be better... Opening weekend biz is expected to be in the same range as the first part [#HappyBhagJayegi had collected ₹ 10.71 cr]… Fri 2.70 cr, Sat 4.03 cr. Total: ₹ 6.73 cr. India biz.”

On the second day, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi’s box office collection stands at Rs 6.73 crore, which is deemed to be fair.

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi Movie Review

India TV’s film critic rated Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi 2.5 out of five stars. She wrote, “The movie relies completely on the performances and camaraderie of its star cast as Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi has been loosely written. The dim-witted jokes, racist remarks and desperately trying to be funny scenes weigh down the charm of this follow-up. Comedy is scattered, unlike the previous film which kept you laughing throughout. Aziz resorts to Pakistan-bashing and mocking names and looks of Chinese to make this sequel work. 'Sab Ek Jaise Dikhte Hain' and names like 'Fa Q' and 'Makaju' might make you smile but that's not what we expect from a maker who gave us a hilarious film on runaway bride. Characters dance in superhero costumes and unnecessary play dumb charades to evoke laughter, making you wonder, 'why is this happening?'. But that doesn't mean, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi is a mess, it is sweet and funny at some places.”
