Kranti
The movie featured Manoj Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Shatrughan Sinha, Parveen Babi, Shashi Kapoor and Hema Malini. The fictional story was set against the pre-independence era and is considered as one of the biggest blockbusters based on patriotism.
Border
The movie is based on the war between India and Pakistan left people teary-eyed in the cinema halls. It beautifully showcases the hardships that a soldier’s family goes through, when he goes on a war to protect the country. One of the songs of the film, ‘Sandese Aate Hain’ still gives goosebumps.
Rang De Basanti
The film directed by Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra became one of the blockbusters. With talented actors like Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan and Soha Ali Khan, the film featured the some rebellious youths, who happily gave their lives to teach an important lesson to the society. The background music given by AR Rahman gave an unforgettable experiemce to the people in theatres.
Mangal Pandey
The movie was based on freedom fighter Mangal Pandey. Aamir Khan got into the skin of the character and delivered a powerful performance.
Swades
The Ashutosh Gowariker’s directorial venture narrated the story of a man played by Shah Rukh Khan, who leaves his job as a NASA scientist and come back to his country to bring the change. The film addressed electricity problem, caste problem and many more issues prevailing in society. The entire cast of the film was commendable.
