This piece of news is going to bring smiles on many faces who were rooting to see superstar Shah Rukh Khan once again under the direction of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Yes, according to the latest hearsay, the superstar will be joining hand with Sanjay for the biopic of an Urdu poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi.
Reports suggest that the film will portray the romantic relationship of Sahir Ludhianvi's with poetess-novelist Amrita Pritam. Previously, it was speculated that the role was offered to actors Irrfan Khan and Fawad Khan but things didn’t work out well and King Khan bagged the opportunity.
A source recently revealed that Sanjay met King Khan and showed his desire to work with him in 2018 introducing him to the script of the film. Both SRK and Sanjay are spending time to work on the film and the former is also paying attention towards Sahir's ghazals and nazms.
The lead actress to play Amrita opposite King Khan is yet to be finalised. However the names of Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra were said to be under consideration by the makers.
Nothing official has been said on the same. But, if this news turns out to be true then it will indeed be interesting to see SRK saying some beautiful ghazals in his own style.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shah Rukh Khan have previously worked together in ‘Devdas’. The director is currently occupied with the shooting of ‘Padmavati’ featuring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. The film is slated to release next year. Shah Rukh, on the other hand is gearing up for the release his upcoming film ‘Raees’ that is scheduled to release on January 25.
