On Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Darr’

Well, we all know that the negative character portrayed by superstar Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Darr’ played an important role in establishing him as an actor. But, Rishi revealed the role of the obsessive lover in the movie was first offered to him but he didn’t want to take the risk. Later, he also rejected Sunny’s role and referred SRK’s name for the villain with whom he had worked in ‘Deewana’.
Award for ‘Bobby’
The actor admitted that success went to his head when his film ‘Bobby’ became successful. He also confessed that he was so naïve that he bought a popular magazine award for ‘Bobby’ and regretted it later. He went on to say that it was one of the reasons of his tussle with Big B who thought that he deserved it for ‘Zanjeer’.
Relationship with Amitabh Bachchan
The actor revealed that he didn’t share amiable terms with Legendry actor Amitabh Bachchan and while shooting for ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ only they became comfortable with each other. He still felt that though Big B has worked with many actors in his films, but has not given credit to any of them.
When he lost confidence
Rishi Kapoor’s film Karz clashed with Qurbaani on the box office that featured Feroz Kha and Zeenat Aman, and didn’t do well. This made him so sad that he didn’t face people for months. Despite having good projects in his kitty, the actor was lacking confidence.
Underworld connection and Dawood Ibrahim
Rishi also penned down his meeting with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. He explained that he talked to him for hours over a tea and also requested not to involve him in any of his matter.

Kapoor praised his wife Neetu Singh to the skies in his latest book. He stated that the lady has always supported him without expecting him to change. He further added that she has adjusted a lot with Rishi’s moods and wishes.
Bond with Son Ranbir
The actor also got candid about his relationship with his son Ranbir Kapoor. He felt sorry for not being with him during his childhood days as he was busy concentrating on his career. Rishi further elaborated that he was not the kind of person to share his son’s girlfriend’s secrets. He has always maintained a dignified distance with him.
