Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, India's most watched couple, sealed their relationship with a wedding in Tuscany, Italy. The duo tied the knot in an intimate affair in the morning and announced it later after 8 pm on Twitter on December 11. ''Today we have promised each other to be bound in love for ever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you.This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans & well wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey,'' the couple shared different pictures from their wedding with similar caption. Soon after they made it official, Twitterati went bonkers and congratulatory messages started pouring in. Celebrities from Bollywood and sports fraternity also took to their Twittter to wish good luck to newlyweds. From Amitabh Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Karan Johar to Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi all expressed their happiness and wished them togetherness. Check out tweets below:
The happy couple shared their wedding photographs on social media with fans. In one image, they are seen laughing happily during the 'phera' ceremony, while in another, a smiling Anushka is seen holding the garland to place it on Virat, who is held aloft by friends.
The couple will be hosting a reception in New Delhi for their relatives on 21st December which will be followed by a reception for industry friends and cricketers in Mumbai on 26th December. The newly wed couple will travel to South Africa where Virat will start prepping for upcoming series & Anushka will spend New Year’s Eve with him & return in first week of January to begin next schedule of a film with Shah Rukh Khan in Mumbai. They will be shifting to their new residence in Worli in December.
