If you thought that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ campaign was applicable only to multinational corporates, then you are surely in for a sweet surprise. Rajinikanth's 2.0, sequel to the blockbuster 'Robot,' is a big-budget film, which has been shot entirely in India.

Furthermore, all technical heads are Indians as is most of the VFX technology used in the film.

While many moviemakers travel around the globe to show the best of locations in the films, Rajini and the filmmakers decided to promote places within the country.

The decision came after actor Rajinikanth met with Narendra Modi when the shooting for 2.0 had begun. A report in Economic Times said Modi suggested to the actor to promote Make in India theme.

The makers of the film said that their Rs 350-crore budget film will be a truly Make in India themed movie.

“The attempt to give a futuristic feel to the movie has resulted in high production costs, but the quality of filming will make many Indian cinemas shift to 3D screens. This movie is shot using 3D techniques. This is being done for the first time in India, “he was quoted in an Economic Times report.

2.0, which also stars Akshay Kumar as the villain and Amy Jackson, will hit the cinemas this October.
