Veteran actress Sridevi, who has worked in the film industry for more than four decades, passed away after suffering cardiac arrest in Dubai.

Veteran actress Sridevi was one the talented stars of the Hindi film industry. She died of cardiac arrest in Dubai and the news came as a big shock to everyone. The lady has worked in the industry over four decades. Did you know, she was paid more than superstar Rajinikanth for a film. Yes, the lady, who started her acting career as a child artist, featured in K Balachander’s film Moondru Mudichu alongside Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.

Both Sridevi and Rajini were newcomers at that time whereas Haasan was an established actor. The lady was paid more than the 2.0 actor. When the actress graced the Tamil remake of Kaun Banega Crorepati, she talked about her experience of working with the two stars. She stated that she was very nervous and even mouthed the wrong dialogues.

The lady herself spilled beans about her salary. She told that she was paid Rs 5000, while Rajinikanth received Rs 2000. The lady was all praises for the superstar as she said that he is very humble, and her mother considered him as her son.

Rajinikanth was shocked when he came to know about the actress’s demise. He took to micro-blogging site Twitter and said, “I’m shocked and very disturbed. I’ve lost a dear friend and the industry has lost a true legend. My heart goes out to her family and friends. I feel the pain with them #RIPSridev ... you will be missed.”

On a related note, the mortal remains of the actress are being brought to India. Her funeral will take place today at Santa Cruz.
