Farhan Akhtar has courted controversies many a times, be it for his alleged affair with actress Shraddha Kapoor or a fight with Aditya Roy Kapoor. This time, Farhan has been dragged into controversy for a different reason. Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar tweeted on Friday about sharing the stage with popular lyricist and father Javed Akhtar along with step mom Shabana Azmi. Everything was right about the tweet but Twitterati caught attention of the fact that actor used only the first name of his step mom in the tweet. He chose to skip a prefix ‘mom’ whether knowingly or unknowingly.
He tweeted: Was a privilege to share stage with my father & Shabana last evening at the tribute to K.Asif
This didn’t go well with his fans who decided to take it on the actor in the form of comments. People commented that if he can’t call her mom then at least use the suffix ‘Ji’ after her name.
A Twitter user wrote that Even if she's your stepmom, no need to call her directly by name. I am sure you do respect her but this was odd/awkward
Another Twitter user wrote: Adding a 'g' wouldn't have crossed 140 character limit. Not preaching. Just odd to read. Age is still respected in this country that's y.
Farhan Akhtar has chosen to remain mum about the matter. He still hasn’t replied to any of the comment. But his fans are seemingly upset with his kind of tweet by the actor. On the work front, Farhan will be seen in Nikhil Advani’s Lucknow Central, which is directed by Ranjit Tiwari. The movie is based on terrorism and patriotism, which will also feature Diana Penty in the lead role. It is slated to release on 15th September, 2017.
