Fanney Khan teaser
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Fanney Khan teaser was released today on all social media platforms. The upcoming musical comedy helmed by debutant Atul Manjrekar and produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Anil Kapoor also marks reunion of the Race 3 actor and Aishwarya after a long gap of 19 years. The duo was last seen in Subhash Ghai's film Taal, which released in 1999.
The teaser opens with crowd cheering for Fanney Khan and then we see a silhouette of Anil Kapoor posing on the stage. While the voice over by Rajkummar Rao explains the meaning of Fanney Khan, we get glimpses of Aishwarya and Rao's looks. In the end, Anil Kapoor, who plays a taxi-driver in the movie is seen blowing a trumpet sitting on his terrace. Excited? Without further ado, check out the teaser right below:

While Aishwarya plays a glamorous singer, Rajkummar will be seen playing her love interest in Fanney Khan. Earlier, makers dropped poster of the movie featuring Anil Kapoor. The first look shows Anil from behind with posters of legendary singer, Mohammed Rafi. While Anil holds a trumpet in one hand, there is lunch box in the other.
Pictures of Aishwarya rehearsing with international choreographer Frank Gatson Jr. surfaced online. Aishwarya will be grooving to a song in the movie choreographed by Frank. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, director Atul Manjrekar confirmed the reports and said: “Aishwarya plays a huge pop icon who’s extremely popular with the youngsters. Her character is a fabulous dancer and singer who performs on the global stage. While fleshing out her character, we began referencing a bunch of choreographers who do international live shows. Frank is among the best in the world and we decided to approach him."
Fanney Khan is a remake of Belgian movie, Everybody's Famous!. The movie was nominated for Academy Award for the Best Foreign Language Film in 73rd Academy Award in 2001.
On the professional front, Anil Kapoor was last seen in Remo D'Souza's Race 3 starring Salman Khan. Despite poor reviews, the movie has minted over Rs 276.86 crore worldwide. Rajkummar Rao's last release was Hansal Mehta's Omerta in which he played the role of terrorist Omar Saeed Sheikh. Rajkummar and Anil Kapoor will also be seen together in debutante Shelly Dhar's Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. On the other hand, Aishwarya last featured in Karan Johar directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil co-starring Ranbir Kapoor, Fawad Khan and Anushka Sharma.
Fanney Khan is slated to hit theatres on August 3, 2018.
