Demonetization has adversely affected the wedding plans of Television heartthrob Shakti Arora. The actor was all set to tie the knot with his long time girlfriend Neha Saxena this year. But, he recently revealed that he had postponed his wedding plans due to the abolishment of old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.
While talking to an entertainment portal, the telly actor confirmed the news of his delayed wedding. He said that he withdrew cash to make advance payment to wedding organisers, caterers and other staff but people declined to accept the old currency. He further stated that changing the currency was a time taking process. Thus the actor won’t be getting married this year.
Shakti said, “I have no idea when we will get married now. It’s definitely not happening this year.”
The actor rose to fame with Ekta Kapoor’s daily soap ‘Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi’. After that he appeared on dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye’ with his lady love Neha. Lately, he was seen on celebrity dance show, ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’.
Both the actors were dating from quite some time. Their fans were eagerly waiting for the two to take nuptial vows. Even the actors were making preparations to get hitched this year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s sudden move to curb black money has not only affected the black money hoarders but it also made telly couple postponed the dream of their wedding.
