New Delhi: Abhishek Choubey’s ‘Udta Punjab’ has been in the limelight for a while now. The movie, after being surrounded by a lot of controversies, has received rave views from the audience.

‘Udta Punjab’ deals with the sensitive issue of growing substance abuse among youth in India.

While everyone is praising the content of the movie, the performance of Diljit Dosanjh, who made his debut in Bollywood with the movie, is also being appreciated.

The actor is, indeed, receiving several offers post ‘Udta Punjab’. It was also reported that Diljit has been roped in for Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Baadshaho’.

But now there has been a buzz, that the Punjabi actor has been replaced by Emraan Hashmi.

This sudden replacement did raise a lot of eyebrows, wondering what exactly conspired between Diljit and the makers.

If the reports are to be believed, ‘Baadshao’ makers took this big step after Diljit asked for a whooping amount for the movie.

“Diljit showed interest in the role of the army officer but then at the time of signing the contract, he quoted a fabulous sum as his fee. Actors use the big fat fee excuse to worm their way out of films. After Udta Punjab, he only wants to do meaty roles in Hindi films. In his next Phillauri, he will woo Anushka Sharma. Diljit now feels it’s better to go with solo leads rather than risk being lost in the big cast,” a source reportedly told an entertainment portal.

Looks like Diljit is riding high on the success of ‘Udta Punjab’.

Directed by Milan Luthria, ‘Baadshaho’ is inspired by real-life events during the emergency in India.

The story revolves around stolen gold. In the movie Ajay Devgn plays a theif, while Vidyut Jammwal plays the role of an undercover cop. Emraan Hashmi will be seen in the role of an army officer who is entrusted with protecting the country’s treasure. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also plays a key role in the movie
