It’s going to be a big day for Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter as their film Dhadak is going to release tomorrow for millions of cinephiles to watch. Sridevi’s 21-year-old daughter will be foraying into the entertainment industry with this Shashank Khaitan’s romantic drama. Based on the iconic Marathi film Sairat, Dhadak has made quite a lot of headlines ever since its inception. While some are really looking forward to Janhvi Kapoor’s debut on screen, others still can’t gulp down the fact that their favourite Marathi love story has been Bollywood-ified.

It’s going to be a month since Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju released and ravaged the box office. Thus, it’s safe to say that the ‘Sanju’ wave is settled for good. This provides Dhadak an open playground to show what it got. Dhadak is expected to do good business at the box office due to the buzz around it and for the fact that late Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor is making a debut with this. As per our speculation, Dhadak is expected to rake in somewhere around Rs 8-10 crores at the box office.

Also, Bollywood has been steering clear of typical romantic movies for a while. The last lovey-dovey Bollywood flick we saw was October which release in April. However, Shoojit Sircar’s October was far articulate and content-driven to be dubbed as a typical Bollywood romantic movie. This might play in the favour of Dhadak, as it’s going to be the first romantic film of the year 2018. While we always love the high-octane and content-driven films, there is a vast section of cinephiles who crave for a good romantic movie. Dhadak is certainly going to serve the purpose.

The third reason why Dhadak will fare decently at the box office is its comparison to Sairat. Whenever a song or a poster from the movie was dropped, people can’t help but draw a comparison between Sairat and its Bollywood counterpart. For the sake of comparing it to Sairat, people might flood to theatres to watch Dhadak.
