The first big budget romantic movie of 2017, ‘Ok Jaanu’, featuring the popular pair Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, is all set to create magic. While the fate of the flick will be decided this Friday, but what are its chances of becoming a box office success? Let’s find out.
Movie buffs were desperately waiting to see the famous ‘Aashiqui 2’ couple once again. Thus, ‘Ok Jaanu’ became one of the most anticipated movies of the year. When trailer of the movie was released it received positive response from the audience. Well, nobody can be left untouched by the glamour that these two charming faces created. But the trailer was a big disappointment to all those who were expecting the same ‘Aashiqui 2’ magic.
The story of the movie looks clichéd with two commitment-phobic persons going for live-in relationship who eventually fall in love. But their ambitions come in between and then what will happen is quite predicted.
The music of the flick is refreshing with A R Rahman as the backbone. The popular ‘Humma Humma’ song was recreated and both the stars performed some sizzling moves but it still got mixed reviews. It’s definitely not easy to match up the popularity of the old song.
‘Ok Jaanu’ is the remake of Tamil film ‘Ok Kanmani’ which was a big hit. In Bollywood, remake films are always compared to original ones. People praised the lead pair of ‘Kanmani’ – Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen. Now, it is definitely going to be difficult for both Aditya and Shraddha to match up to their level.
And, along with all these, Deepika Padukone’s Hollywood debut ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ is slated to release on January 14 in India. Thus, the clash can prove harmful for Ok Jaanu.
