Remember superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s famous dialogue from ‘Om Shaanti Om’ in which he said the universe conspires to make your dream come true? This dialogue fits aptly in case of Paralympic Games medallist Deepa Mallik. The athlete who did India proud got a chance to meet her favourite actor Hrithik Roshan after a wait of 10 long years.

Deepa made every Indian proud as she clinched the silver medal in short put in the 2016 Paralympics games. She became the first Indian woman to achieve the feat.

So, while the entire nation knew that Deepa is an amazing sportsperson little did any one know that she is a hard core Hrithik fan; until now. Deepa shared pictures of her meeting with Hrithik on her Twitter account yesterday.

Deepa said that just like she had to wait for 10 years for the medal, she did the same to meet her screen idol. She said that Hrithik sat on her knees to respect her medal.

On his personal Twitter handle, Hrithik Roshan thanked Deepa for making him special and being an inspiration.

Deepa, who can’t feel any sensation below her chest, has won accolades for her participation in various sports. At the age of 42, Deepa was awarded with the Arjuna award. She became the first physically challenged individual to receive an official rally license from the Federation Motor Sports Club of India (FMSCI). This license made Deepa a navigator and driver in the toughest car rallies in the country that spans Himalayas, Leh, Shimla and Jammu.
