De De Pyaar De Trailer Review: Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet's romantic-comedy looks formulaic, Tabu is amazing as always
On Ajay Devgn’s 50th birthday, the makers of De De Pyaar De have dropped the first trailer of the romantic-comedy film. The film stars Rakul Preet and Tabu in titular roles. The 2 minutes and 56 seconds video is full of moments where Ajay Devgn as film’s protagonist is trapped between his 25 years younger girlfriend Rakul and his gorgeous ex-wife Tabu. Ajay Devgn is playing the role of a 50-year-old man who falls in love with a 26-year-old woman, played by Rakul. While Ajay is bedazzled by her beauty, Rakul is shown to be lured by his wealth, as Javed Jaffery says in the trailer.
Ajay Devgn’s love story with Rakul turns into a nightmare when she comes to know that his kids are of her age. Alok Nath, who is playing his father, also adds salt to his wounds. However, the overall trailer might fail to trigger out laughter. The tried-and-test formula of Gharwali and Baharwali is repeated in this film as well.
De De Pyaar De is written by Luv Ranjan, who has films like Pyaar Ka Punchana, Akash Vani and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety under his belt. The best part of all these above-mentioned films is the novelty of the script. All the films are based on fresh subjects in a fresh premise. However, De De Pyaar De doesn’t seem to have any newness, if we go by the trailer.
Well, we can always wait for the audience verdict to see how the trailer goes among them. Will Luv Ranjan deliver another box office success with De De Pyaar De? Only May 17 can tell us.
