Ranveer Singh starrer Kapil Dev biopic '83 has been making huge headlines ever since its inception. Earlier buzz had it that Nawazuddin Siddiqui had been roped in to play Ranveer Singh’s coach in the Kabir Khan directorial venture. Now, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s spokesperson has come to the forefront to clear the air.
“There is absolutely no truth to this. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is not part of '83. While he does share great respect and deep admiration for Kabir Khan as a director and would love to work with him in the future, he has not signed '83", the spokesperson rubbished rumours of Nawazuddin Siddqui being a part of Ranveer Singh’s '83.
On the work front, Nawaziddin will next be seen in the second season of Sacred Games. He garnered appreciation for his role in the first season of the web series.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy, also starring Alia Bhatt in lead role is all set to release on February 14 amid huge expectations.
Ranveer Singh's '83 is a biopic on legendary cricketer Kapil Dev, under whose captaincy India lifted the world cup trophy for the first time. Kabir Khan's directorial is based on India's historic win in 1983 cricket world cup. Rumours also have it that Deepika Padukone has been approached to essay the role of Romi Bhatia, Kapil Dev's wife.
In an earlier interview, Ranveer Singh described it as an exciting as well as a daunting challenge to portray the living legend on-screen for the first time. Speaking about his preparations, Ranveer said that he is aware of the fact that he is shouldering a huge responsibility.
