On Friday, Salman Khan announced the release date of his upcoming film Dabangg 3 and it was supposed to clash with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's Brahmastra until now. The makers of Brahmastra including director Ayan Mukerji and producer Karan Johar, have now planned to release the film in the summer of 2020. The decision has been made because the film's VFX and creative team is unable to produce the best results as promised. Hence, to provide the audience with the best experience, Ayan Mukerji and the makers took the call to delay the film by months. Also, it may also have been decided after Salman Khan's Dabangg 3 was also scheduled to release on Christmas 2019. Clashing two such big-budget films didn't seem judicious to the makers of Brahmastra.
In his official statement, Ayan Mukerji wrote, "Our release date is now slated for Summer 2020, but we will announce this officially once we are absolutely certain of the date. "
Salman Khan's most-awaited Dabangg 3 to release on December 20, to clash with Brahmastra
He added, "It's been a long long road to trying to achieve this vision. When we broke the logo for Brahmastra at the Kumbh, we were excited that the end of that road was in sight, Christmas 2019. But also in terms of visual and VFX. In the past week, I have learnt that all the teams working on the movie, led by my VFX teams, need more time to get the VFX right, to get the music and sound right and eventually to get the film right."
Brahmastra has Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in important roles. The filming is being done since 2018 and the patchwork is still in process. It seems like this decision to push the film further might work in the favour of the makers since another Bollywood film Good News is also releasing on December 27.
