Brahmastra is one of the most-awaited films of 2019. The first part of the trilogy featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Ali Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan among others in important roles is set to release this Christmas. Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar, the first part of the series has been titled, Love. Ayan, who was not active on social media made his Instagram debut around Brahmastra's logo launch.
The makers launched the logo of the fantasy drama. The video starts with a voiceover of Ranbir and Amitabh Bachchan, who give us a sneak-peek into what Brahmastra is all about. Now, the director Ayan Mukerji has shared an early look test picture of Ranbir and it will remind you of Rockstar. In the photo, the actor's hair is messy and long with unkempt stubble.
Sharing the photo of the 35-year-old actor, Ayan wrote, ''Rumi. First, he was Rumi. Rumi with long hair. This image is from an early look test for the movie. Rumi said, ‘Love is the bridge between you and everything...’, and that feeling is the foundation we started building the protagonist of this movie on... But then, there was new inspiration, newer thoughts... Dragon became Brahmāstra, we gave Ranbir a haircut, and Rumi became... Shiva."
Have a look at the post below:
Ranbir and Ayan have earlier collaborated twice. Their first film together was Wake Up Sid and then they went on to reunite with Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Earlier, in an Instagram post, Ayan revealed that Ranbir was the first person to know about Brahmastra. The director further said that the idea cropped up in his mind during Yeh JawaanI Hai Deewani. “Director & Actor. Ranbir - The absolute first person to have heard about Brahmastra and the first to have jumped on for the ride! On a writing trip for Yeh Jawaani in May 2011, is where the idea was born... and Ranbir was my very first phone call. There is so much to share about Brahmastra, but it is fitting that the first team member this Insta journey touches upon is... Ranbir aka Shiva aka Rumi aka Artist aka Soldier! More over the next few... #brahmastra #shivadiaries.”
On a related note, Ranbir's last release Sanju went on to be a blockbuster. The movie, which was a biopic of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was directed by Rajkumar Hirani. It raked in over Rs 300 crore at the box office.
