The third instalment of the popular YPD franchise- Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se hit the theaters on August 31 and has earned Rs 1.82 crore on its opening day. As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, despite the Deols trio comeback with their usual charm, the movie was not able to impress audience and has to settle with low numbers.

On the other hand, Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree, which released on the same day has performed unexpectedly. The horror comedy, which has been directed by Amar Kaushik has earned Rs 6.82 crore on its first day. Stree is riding high on positive word of mouth and its numbers are expected to increase over weekends.

Indiatvnews.com's movie critic gave one and a half star to Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se and wrote, ''In fact, the three lead actors tried their luck at bringing back their most iconic roles in order to excite the audience but trust me, when I say, the cinema hall sat not even smiling an inch throughout the movie. While Dharmendra tried to revive his Sholay days with the same bike and persona, Sunny Deol also brought back his Gadar look thinking it will force the public to shower him with hoots and whistles''.

On the professional front, Bobby Deol was last seen in Salman Khan starrer Race 3, which failed to impress audience and critics. It was Bobby's comeback film after a long gap. Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se also stars Kriti Kharbanda as a leading lady. Recently in an interview, Kriti shared an incident when she had a vodka shot before shooting a scene with the veteran actor. The diva said that the scene required her to be high and yell at Dharmendra. She was quite nervous, hence, she took a shot of vodka before shooting it. This made the scene look more authentic, she added.
