Few days back, actor Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film ‘Jolly LLB 2’ landed in a legal soup when a practising sessions court lawyer Ajaykumar Waghmare alleged that the film is maligning the reputation of Indian legal profession. Now, the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court has asked the makers of the film to reply to the petition.
The petition was filed to remove ‘LLB’ from the title of the film. It further stated that the two minute long trailer showed many several funny antics and behaviours in the court premises that may tarnish the dignity of Indian Legal Profession and Judiciary.
Waghmare said that that in the trailer, characters of the film were seen jumping here and there in the court and thus, he wanted the makers to delete those scenes from the movie.
The petition was filed against nine respondents.
The advocate has requested to issue a contempt notice against ‘Jolly LLB 2’ makers and has also asked to delay the release of the film until the hearing in the court.
The trailer of ‘Jolly LLB 2’ received positive response from the audience. Akshay’s humorous arguments along with Saurabh Shukla and Annu Kapoor’s power packed performances made it to the list of must watch movies.
On a related note, ‘Jolly LLB 2’ is the sequel of 2013 film ‘Jolly LLB’ that features actress Huma Qureshi opposite Akshay. The flick is slated to release on February 10.
