Bollywood celebrities including Priyanka Chopra, Varun Dhawan and Esha Gupta have prayed for peace and humanity to be restored in Aleppo, Syria, where renewed fighting has put at risk a truce deal to evacuate people and rebel fighters.
The Syrian city has become the centre of talks across the globe. The United Nations earlier this week said up to 50,000 civilians are trapped within a small area of the besieged city. There have been reports that women and children are being killed in the city.
Over the past few days residents have been sharing heartbreaking posts on social media saying they don’t know when they will be dead.
While condition in Aleppo looks gloomy, celebrities have prayed for peace to win.
