According to a latest report, the makers of Bharat have erected a set of Wagah Border in Ludhiana district. To erect the set, they have temporarily acquired a 19 acre land from four local farmers and they are paying Rs 80 thousand per acre to the farmers.
Now the farmers are facing troubles due to the film sets on their land. As the set has been sealed by the makers, they are finding it difficult to go to their fields for farming. People who have their land in the neighbouring village Jodha are also facing similar troubles. The farmers were not even allowed to harvest their lands.
Bharat, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, is based on the Korean War Drama, An Ode to My Father. It stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani, Tabu, Sunil Grover and Nora Fatehi in important roles.
