Behind the scenes with Alia Bhatt and Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy for ‘Ae Watan’
Bollywood diva Alia Bhatt is already making hearts beat faster with looks and songs of her upcoming movie Raazi. The lady has not left the buzz since the moment her first look from the flick was out.
Now she is making waves for the recently released song ‘Ae Watan’. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy along with the mesmerizing voice of Arijit Singh have created a masterpiece that touches the depths of every soul. They have given us a patriotic song after a long time and you cannot help but have goosebumps every time you hear it.
With the song already marking its place, the makers of Raazi have released Behind-the-scenes video and we can’t keep calm. The very presence of Gulzar Saheb working with the terrific musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy makes it worth a watch, and to put the cherry on this cake is Alia Bhatt’s phenomenal performance.
In the 3 min 4 second video, the makers and the actors talk at length about the song. Director Meghna Gulzar states that, “Ae Watan, for me, is special because we are hearing a patriotic song after a long time and also, it’s operating at two levels because she (Alia as Sehmat) has taught it to the children and the children are singing it for their country (Pakistan), she is actually singing for hers (India).”
Alia even confesses that she is very excited to hear the Arijit Singh’s version of the song as she has always been his big fan.
Raazi is a period thriller drama in which an Indian spy is married away to a Pakistani Military officer during Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. The movie features Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles and is directed under the banners of Junglee Pictures and Dharma Productions.
Raazi will hit the theaters on May 11
