The much-awaited flick ‘Befikre’ that marked the comeback of Aditya Chopra released this Friday. The film had a decent opening and fetched Rs. 10.36 crore on its first day. However, contrary to expectations of collections growing over the weekend, nothing as such happened.
The film collected 11.60 crore on Saturday and 12.40 crore on Sunday making Rs 34.36 crore its weekend collection.
After a film gets released, it is expected to show growth in its second and third day but this thing didn’t happen with ‘Befikre’. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the numbers. He tweeted, “#Befikre has limited growth on Sat... Sun crucial... Fri 10.36 cr, Sat 11.60 cr. Total: ₹ 21.96 cr [2100 screens]. India biz.”
On the other hand, Vidya Balan-starrer ‘Kahaani 2’ that released last week clocked a growth of 113.33 per cent on Saturday as it minted Rs. 1.60 crore taking its total collection to Rs. 26.61 cr.
‘Befikre’ received mix reviews from the audience and critics, making it one of the reasons behind its weak growth at the box office.
‘Befikre’ features Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor for the first time together on the silver screen. Both played the role of carefree and free-spirited people. The film was Aditya’s take on modern love stories.
