With each passing day, the battle at the box-office is getting tougher and meaner. While the year began with Shah Rukh Khan’s “Raees” versus Hrithik Roshan’s “Kaabil”, we will soon get to witness one more clash at box office. This time it will be the “battle of the heroines”.

Shraddha Kapoor’s much-talked about film “Haseena” will clash with Sridevi’s “Mom” on July 14.

“Haseena” is based on the real-life story of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar, which will be played by Shraddha.

The first look of the film was much appreciated and applauded by all.

Shraddha looked fearless and bold and her look indicated that this time she has chosen a role that is completely opposite to her bubbly image.

The film is helmed by Apoorva Lakhia and it also features Shraddha’s brother Siddhant Kapoor.

On the other hand, “Mom” is about a career woman trying to find middle ground with her stepdaughter.

Directed by Ravi Udyawar, and produced by Boney Kapoor, the film’s poster was released by Sridevi herself and boy oh boy, she stole the show completely.

The 53-year-old actress, in the poster, was seen facing towards the right with her hands folded and the word “MOM” is written all over the picture in several languages.

Besides Sridevi, the film has a fantastic supporting cast such as Nawazuddin Siddiqui (special appearance), Akshaye Khanna, Abhimanyu Singh and Vikas Verma.

Pakistani child actors Adnan Siddiqui and Sajal Aly are playing the roles of Sridevi's children in the film.

In brief, both Sridevi and Shraddha play anti-heroines in their simultaneous releases on July 14.

Shraddha’s last movies ‘Rock On 2’ and ‘Ok Jaanu’ failed at the box office. Thus, to be ahead of her contemporaries, it is important for the actress to get a hit.

Sridevi was last seen was last seen in the 2012 flick “English Vinglish” for which she received both audience and critics acclaim.

The battleground is set for July 14, and may the best film win
