Badla Early Reviews: Twitterati declare Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu starrer an 'amazing suspenseful film'

Badla, an intense thriller starring Amitabh Bachchan, produced by Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Sujoy Ghosh, has opened in cinemas today on the occasion of International Women's Day 2019.  Badla reunites Mr Bachchan with her Pink co-star Taapsee Pannu. Like in the National Award-winning film, Mr Bachchan plays Taapsee's onscreen lawyer. This time her character has been accused of murder but she pleads not guilty. Taapsee plays the role of Naina, who has been accused of killing the man she was having an affair with. Defence lawyer Badal Gupta (played by Amitabh Bachchan), who holds the record of not having lost a single case in his 40-year-old career, is Naina's only hope.

The first reviews for the suspense thriller began pouring in early Friday morning, and suggest that Badla is an 'amazing suspenseful film'

"@sujoy_g  I have always been a fan . What a film #badla ! !!! @SrBachchan  sir take a BOW . How do you do it again and again !! @taapsee  you played it so well . So so proud of you my friend . Well done #AmritaSingh what a performer",  says actor Jaccky Bhagnani.

A user tweeted, "#Badla is a smart crackling mystery. Umpteen twists, picturesque locations and zippy pace make this a super ride. @SrBachchan is in top form. @taapsee is fabulous. @sujoy_g directs with aplomb. Don’t miss".

Badla brings director Sujoy Ghosh to the genre which can be best described as his comfort zone. He's received critical-acclaim for making the thrillers like the Kahaani series and Ahalya.

Team Badla kept the films promotions low-profile with only a couple of songs and an 'Badla unplugged' series featuring Mr Bachchan and SRK adding to the film's promotional content. In one of the 'Badla unplugged' series, Mr Bachchan revealed that he was once mistaken for actor Salman Khan when the team was filming in Glasgow.

Badla, produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment, also stars Amrita Singh, Denzil Smith and Manav Kaul.
