Bollywood industry has lost yet another talented soul. Veteran actress Shakila passed away on Wednesday in Mumbai due to a heart attack. Known as the fairy queen of Hindi cinema, Shakila ruled hearts with her beauty and brilliant performances. She starred in several popular films such as Wadia Movietone’s Hatim Tai, Aar Paar, CID and China Town, sharing screen space with legendary actors Raj Kapoor, Guru Dutt and Shammi Kapoor. Breathing her last at the age of 82, Shakila has left behind some of the most celebrated songs that will stay with us forever. 

Babuji Dheere Chalna

It is one of the most popular tracks till date and the lyrics are just lovely and terrific. The singer Geeta Dutt’s voice suits Shakila perfectly and, we the result is just phenomenal

O Leke Pehla Pehla Pyaar 

Even if we haven’t heard the original version of the song featuring Shakila, the remix version is etched on our minds.

Neend Na Mujhko Aaye 

This track from the film Post Box No. 999 is a classic that will keeps us hooked whenever the songs starts playing.

Zulfon Ki Ghata Le Kar

The song from the 1961 film Reshmi Rumal speaks volumes as one gets totally mesmerized by it.

Ae Mere Dil Hai Nadaan 

Shakila's nephew Nasir Khan, who is actor Johnny Walker's son, took to his Facebook account to share the tragic news of actress Shakila’s death. "With a heavy heart i have 2 inform u all dat my maternal aunt (my moms older sister) Shakila Aunty has passed away. She was a star in her own right in the 50's n 60's. Babuji dheere chalna, pyaar mein zara samhalna...Please keep her in ur prayers. May Allah grant her Jannat," he posted on Instagram along with photos of Shakila”, he posted.

Shakla last appeared in the 1963 film Ustadon Ke Ustad.  She was also known for her friendship with Waheeda Rehman, Nanda, and Jabeen Jalili.
