Filmmaker SS Rajamouli, whose film Baahubali did earth-shattering collections at the box office, received the prestigious ANR National Award for his contribution to the Telugu film industry. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu presented the award to the ace director and also called him Baahubali. Rajamouli was all smiles at the event.
"You deserved the award because you are Baahubali". Naidu said, revoking the title of Rajamouli's blockbuster fantasy drama.
"This felicitation is to provide inspiration and to inspire people. It is a memorable moment for me to present evergreen ANR award today," the vice president said.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, also present at the function, recalled the contribution of A Nageswara Rao, popularly known as ANR, to the Telugu film industry.
ANR's son Nagarjuna Akkineni, other members of the Akkineni family and prominent members of the film industry were present at the award function.
On a related note, Baahubali: The Conclusion featured Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles.
