SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ had a huge contribution towards making the film business profitable in the year 2015. The magnum opus period drama made over Rs 600 crore at the worldwide box office, stunning trade experts and viewers alike.

As historical as ‘Baahubali’s’ collections were, the movie is still raking money despite being a year old. The movie which released worldwide on July 10, 2015, is still earning profit for its makers from the international market. It released in the neighbouring country of China last week and the response has been outstanding.

Media reports have it that the movie saw a massive release in 6000 screens and since its release it has earned $0.63 million (approximately Rs 4.2 crore). It is also being said that the collections are only growing steadily. The Chinese version of the movie has been clipped by 20 minutes.

Chinese firm E Star at a whopping price had acquired the distribution rights of the movie. ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ clashed with Jackie Chan's action comedy ‘Skiptrace’, but wasn’t affected by it much as far as numbers are concerned.

With this, ‘Baahubali’ has achieved yet another feat.

The sequel of the film is being awaited by the cine buffs with much anxiety. Starring Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan and Nassar in key roles, the first instalment left ended in suspense.

‘Baahubali 2’ is expected to hit the theatres at the beginning of 2017.
