Baaghi 2
Actor Tiger Shroff and actress Disha Patani’s latest release Baaghi 2 has received wonderful response at the box office on the first day. The film opened at Rs 25.10 crore and this has also surprised the trade experts. Despite receiving mixed reviews from the critics, the movie has minted good amount. It seems that Tiger and Disha’s chemistry is spelling magic on the audience. The box office figures were shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh on social media.
Taran took to micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, “#Baaghi2 sets the BO on... Takes a FANTABULOUS, EARTH SHATTERING START... Emerges the BIGGEST OPENER of 2018 [so far], surpassing Previews + Day 1 biz of #Padmaavat... Fri ₹ 25.10 cr. India biz... The numbers are an EYE-OPENER!”
Interestingly, the film has beaten the first-day collection of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat and Akshay Kumar starrer PadMan. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s film earned Rs 24 crore on the opening day whereas PadMan collected 10.26 crore.
It is yet to be seen if Baaghi 2 manages to make its place in the coveted Rs 100 crore club. The movie had some high-octane action sequences but it was riddled with holes.
On a related note, Baaghi 2, directed by Ahmed Khan, is the sequel to 2016 film Baaghi. Along with Tiger and Disha, the film also featured Randeep Hooda, Manoj Bajpayee and Deepak Dobriyal in pivotal roles.
