2017 has been great for movie buffs as many content driven films not only managed to impress critics but also minted good amount at the box office. Actors like Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao and Irrfan Khan ruled the box office and proved that time has changed and now content is the real king. Interestingly, the year was not very good for superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan as their films Tubelight and Jab Harry Met Sejal couldn’t do wonders at the box office. Ayushmann Khurrana
The actor, who made his debut with Vicky Donar, has come a long way. This year, his two films Bareilly Ki Barfi and Shubh Mangal Savdhan received praises and also performed well at the box office. Bareilly Ki Barfi proved that people in our country can never get bored of love stories whereas Shubh Mangal Saavdhan raised the topic of erectile dysfunction in the most humorous way possible.
Rajkummar Rao
This man needs no introduction. Every time he appears on the silver screen, he makes cinema lovers proud. Rajkummar played a short role in Bareilly Ki Barfi but it was hard for movie buffs to shift their attention. In many scenes, he stole the thunder from his co-actors. He again proved his acting prowess in Newton. The movie became India’s official entry to Oscars 2018.
Irrfan Khan
He featured in a movie titled Hindi Medium that beautifully portrayed how the society has been divided into English speaking and non-English speaking category. Irrfan played a loving husband and adorable father and proved that leading man of a film can be realistic.
