New Delhi: Just when we thought that the rift between singer Arijit Singh and Salman Khan might fade away, the story has now taken a new turn.
Insiders from the industry have revealed that the superstar had no hand in chopping Arijit’s song from ‘Sultan’ and the latter seems to have created a mountain out of a mole hill.
For the uninitiated, the controversy started when Arijit posted an apology on his Facebook page and pleaded Salman to not to delete his song from the movie.
But, that did not happen. As the song in mention ‘Jag Ghommeya’ has Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s voice in the movie.
Post a huge ruckus created around the deletion of the romantic number, many felt that Salman is using his star power to destroy Arijit’s career.
But, it seems there is a different part of the story which is hidden from all. Fresh media reports suggest that apparently, the removal of Arijit’s song was a creative decision and Salman had nothing to do with it.
An actress (whose name is under wraps) was frustrated with the entire incident and called a leading daily to say,
“Why is Aditya Chopra letting Salman Khan take the flak for the Arijit Singh controversy? It wasn’t Salman who had Arijit’s song Jag Ghoomeya dropped from Sultan.”

She went on,
“It was a creative decision taken by the production house. Instead a big tamasha was allowed to unfold with Arijit’s public apology to Salman where he had pleaded with the actor to retain his song. Contrary to what Arijit keeps harping about, the actor has moved on a long back. He’s not petty and would never play politics with somebody’s career. All it would take is a statement from the production house to clear Salman’s name in this matter. But he is not the kind of person to tell them to do so.”
Arijit, in his interviews post the controversy has maintained that Salman is still angry with him over a ‘childish’ thing he did years ago at an award function. But, this actress’ statement begs to differ from what the singer said.
Till now, Salman has chosen to stay silent on the matter. Maybe he needs to speak up now to clear the air, on the question; is he really mad at Arijit?
