Anushka Sharma is upping her Bollywood game one day at a time. On Tuesday, we told you how the actress managed to get a spot in Forbes’ coveted 30 Under 30 Asia 2018 list. She is the only Bollywood actress to get featured in the list. Now her horror flick Pari becomes the first female-led film to get an international opening. For the uninitiated, Pari is all set to release in Russia. Anushka Sharma shared the poster of the Russian version of her film on Instagram.
According to the Deccan Chronicle report, Pari also marks a record feat as no other female-led Bollywood film has ever got an international opening. It is slated to release in Russia on April 19. Russia is an unconventional market for Indian films today, but however, it used to be a good business space during the times of Raj Kapoor. All his movies enjoy massive success in Russia even today.
Anushka Sharma’s Pari has managed to up the ante of horror films in India. It resonated well with both audience and film critics. Devoid of loud sound effects and unnecessary romantic drama, which is typical of a Bollywood horror film, Pari managed to strike a chord with the Indian audience who was craving for a genuine horror film.
Pari stars Anushka Sharma in the lead role with Parambrate Chatterjee, Rajat Kapoor and Ritabhari Chakraborty playing pivotal roles. It was bankrolled by her own production house Clean Slate Films and KriArj Entertainment. It was also a directorial debut of Prosit Roy.
