Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap who is known for his dark and gritty films is coming to theatres with his film Mukkabaaz on 12th January. Up next, he will helm the much-delayed project Manmarziyan that is produced by Aanand L Rai and will feature Abhishek Bachchan as one of the male leads.
However, the news is abuzz that once Anurag is done shooting for this film, he might direct megastar Amitabh Bachchan in his next. Prior to this, the Gangs of Wasseypur director has directed the veteran actor in one of the short films of Bollywood anthology film, Bombay Talkies.
A source close to Anurag Kashyap confirmed a leading tabloid, “if things fall into place, Anurag may direct both Sr and Jr Bachchan this year.
Another source said, “Anurag has an interesting script in place. He is keen to direct Big B for that project. Currently, he is tied up with Manmarziyaan but soon after that, he wants to rope in Amitabh for his next.”
As of now the script and genre of the film are being kept under wraps. Well, we wonder what the film will be about. Anurag is known for his dark and gritty storytelling, and the last time we saw Big B in something like that, was back in Aks. Needless to say, it will be an association worth remembering
In the meantime, Amitabh Bachchan is busy with many of his upcoming films, including Thugs Of Hindostan, Brahmastra, Aankhen 2, and 102 Not Out.
