Veteran actors Anupam Kher and Rishi Kapoor have expressed grief over the death of comic legend Jerry Lewis, who passed away at the age of 91. The news of the legendary actor’s demise was confirmed by his agent. Anupam and Rishi shared Lewis' pictures and thanked him for making them smile. In his career spanning over six decades, Lewis entertained audiences and was behind comedic classics such as The Nutty Professor and The Bellboy.
"The greatest face maker, truly legendary, the man responsible for my smiles and laughter- "Jerry Lewis" bids adieu! A true genius (sic)," Kapoor tweeted.
While, Kher wrote, "#JerryLewis was not only a great comic actor but did a lot of charity for underprivileged children. He added laughter to our tears. RIP Sir, (sic)."
Hollywood bigwigs such as Martin Scorsese, Jim Carrey, Ellen DeGeneres and Goldie Hawn, among others, also paid tributes to Lewis.
Jerry was one of the most famous comic actors of the 1950s and '60s, who also won applause as a writer, actor and philanthropist.
