Raising his voice over the horrific mass molestation of women in Bengaluru during New Year celebrations, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address the issue immediately.
Khan took to microblogging website Twitter to express concern over the act by some of the Indian youngsters, referring to PM Modi’s emphasis on nation’s youth for a better future.
“Honourable PM Narendrabhai, you have time and again mentioned that India’s youth will drive the country forward. It’s a shame what the youth have done in Bengaluru..Such acts are happening repeatedly all over. We were also young once but never have such things happened,” he wrote.
“Narendrabhai, the power of the youth is double edged it can go either way. You need to address it immediately @narendramodi @PMOIndia,” he added as he tagged PM Modi and Prime Minister’s Office’ official Twitter handle in his tweet.
On New Year’s Eve, the Karnataka capital was brought to shame when drunken men forcefully indulged in unfavourable activities with women.
What makes it more shocking is the fact that all this happened under the surveillance of around 1,500 police personnel.
