AndhaDhun, completely owned by Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu, is doing fantastic business at the box office. The Sriram Raghavan-directorial is maintaining its pace even on weekdays, as we saw on Day 4 of its run. Despite a Hollywood release (Venom) and Varun Dhawan-starrer Sui Dhaaga, AndhaDhun manages to do good business at the box office. On Monday, the film earned Rs 3.50 crores and it is surprising to see a film doing good on Monday, since it was a working weekday.
If AndhaDhun maintains this momentum throughout the week, it can rake in some good numbers at the box office.
On the other hand, LoveYatri, which marked the debut of Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma, is running lukewarmly at the box office. It had a low weekend. The collections dropped by nearly 50 per cent on Monday and even weekend wasn’t that profitable, citing that AndhaDhun and Venom are there to pull the crowd in the theatres.
On Monday, LoveYatri minted Rs 1 crore at the box office, making the total to Rs 7.75 crores. Venom is doing decent business as it collected Rs 2.50 crore at the box office. The numbers fell by around 40 per cent owing to a working weekday. In its first week, it has collected Rs 18 crore. It is expected to hit the 25 crore mark by the end of this week.
AndhaDhun is directed by Sriram Raghavan, who has delivered neo-noir crime-thrillers like Johnny Gaddar, Badlapur, Ek Hasina Thi. He has come back to the silverscreen with AndhaDhun after three years. His last film was Badlapur, which was highly-acclaimed by critics across the country.
