Sriram Raghavan’s crime-thriller AndhaDhun, which was garnished with a number of comic moments, is doing really well at the box office. The film features Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role of a blind pianist alongside versatile actors Tabu and Radhika Apte. The film is on the receiving end of a million praises that it’s getting from both critics as well as audience. Also, in terms of box office numbers, the quirky crime-thriller has maintained its pace, despite facing competition from Hollywood film Venom and Salman Khan’s production venture LoveYatri.
On Monday it minted Rs 3.5 crore which is surprisingly well for a working weekday. On Tuesday, AndhaDhun remained steady in its course at the box office. On its fifth day in the domestic circuit, the Sriram Raghavan film has reached a total of Rs 20 crore.
Our film critic wrote about AndhaDhun: The first half of the movie is just too engaging as your mind will try to gather everything that is happening. The second half has some absurd plot twists which transcend in a different direction shocking the viewers and demanding their attention. Despite the loopholes in the script, this twisted, dark bunch of characters in the film seem to happily plummet to their dark depths. The nuggets of humour in the first half is also enjoyable.
AndhaDhun is directed by Sriram Raghavan, who has last directed Varun Dhawan starrer Badlapur. He also directed neo-noir crime-thrillers like Johnny Gaddar, Ek Hasina Thi and Agent Vinod. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte, AndhaDhun released on silverscreen on 5th October.
