Latest Bollywood offering AdhaDhun featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte took a swift upward peak after an average start at the box office on Friday. The collections gained momentum as the film earned a whopping Rs 7 crore on Sunday. The total collection now is Rs 15 crore in three days, according to Box Office India collection. If reports and reviews are to be believed, AndhaDhun is set to go higher coming week owing to word of mouth publicity.
Andhadhun came out the top film on Sunday with collections of 7 crore nett on Sunday. The film has gone ahead of Venom despite a much weaker start compared to that film. The film has jumped around 110% on Saturday and consolidated with 40% growth on Sunday. The weekend is ordinary, but the trend is excellent, and it depends on how the film holds from here on.
Box Office India report says, “The film has grossed over 14 crore nett and it should see a good Monday hold going by weekend trend and the target should be to be at least around the Friday figure. The weekend collections of Andhadhun are as follows. Friday - 2,35,00,000 apprx Saturday - 5,00,00,000 apprx Sunday - 7,00,00,000 apprx TOTAL - 14,35,00,000 apprx”.
AndhaDhun's release clashed with Salman Khan production LoveYatri which starred Salman's brother-in-law Aayush Sharma and debutante Warina Hussain. The Hollywood movie Venom which also released on Friday, however, earned higher numbers than the two films in the first tow days. But, Sriram Raghavan’s Andhahun took over Venom on the third day.
AndhaDhun revolves around a visually challenged piano player, played by Ayushmann, who gets into a mysterious situation. It is about how a series of incidents get unfolded afterwards, bringing about significant changes in his life.
